Top 10 Tips to be a Good Parent


1.    Being a parent means you are responsible for another person too. Your kid is growing up watching you. If you live good, you kid learn good things, else he/she will learn bad things. So you should be a good model to your kids.

2.    Love your child but do not spoil him/her. You should love your kids but do not give so many material things and give in to every demand of him/her. You should consider what is good for your child and give them opportunities to value and respect money.

3.    Always be a part of your child’s life. Do not be so ignorant with your own engagements and avoid your kid. It is difficult but worth it. Sacrifice a bit and always find time for your child. But do not do things like doing his/her homework, supervise and allow your child to learn and grow.

4.    Keep in pace with your child’s development. Age might affect different kids in different ways. Parent him/her according to how he/she is.

5.    The young age is when you should teach things to your kids. It’s very difficult to change once older and you will regret later if you don’t teach them the good things in young age.

6.    Set limits for your kids to practice good lessons in self-control. Give them space to be independent.

7.    You should be clear about what you want from your child. Be sure of what you are telling them and do not change it time to time. They will remember what you say.So you have to be consistent.

8.    Do not be very harsh to enforce discipline. Do not hit your kids and make them hate you , hate others. Aggression and anger is always negative.

9.    Always talk remembering your kid’s age. A 6 year old kid may not understand if you talk to him like talking to a teenager. Understand your child’s behavior and find about his behavior at school.

10.    Respect your child. Be polite and do not be bossy. Respect his / her opinions and listen to him. Be kind. Your way of behaving is the foundation for your child for his/her relationship with others.
