Everyone wish to have a good memory. It is very essential in life. When you are little, you have to study and keep things in mind to pass exam. As you are older and get responsibilities, you have to remember so many things in life. Keeping your brain active is very essential to have a good memory. Here are 10 tips to boost your memory.





1. Exercise: Exercising and getting movement for your body will give exercise to your brain too. Obesity and being overweight can harm your brain too. Lack of exercise will lead to plaque in arteries that can lead to heart attacks. Oxygen and essential nutrients for your brain will also be reduced. Thus brain’s functioning ability will be affected. So you should some exercise such as walking, dancing or swimming or jogging everyday.

2. Stay stress-free: Eliminate stressful thoughts and stay happy. Fill your mind with positive thoughts. Depression, anxiety and anger should be eliminated. Depression can actually cause memory loss. Don’t feel hesitant to seek professional help if you need it.

3.  Sleep well at night: In today’s hectic lifestyle, people compromise on sleep-but don’t. Sleeping seven or eight hours is essential for health. It increases memory. Short naps can be taken during day too.

 4.  Write down things: No matter what technology comes; writing in a book or paper will never lose its value. Writing while memorizing can actually be a good exercise for your brain. It creates blood flow and oxygen flow to brain areas that has your memories.

5.  Listen to songs and music: Music entertains and heals. Haven’t you heard of music therapy? It is one of the highest forms of art. This helps in remembering too. Because we might think of video of a film song when we hear it. This helps in boosting memory.

6. Provide food for your brain: Almost sixty percent of brain is fat which insulates the nerve cells. You think quickly only when a cell is insulated properly. This is why young children are fed milk and given proper food. So healthy fat is essential for brain. So foods that have fat with nutrition like fish or leafy vegetables is a good choice.

7. Be visually alert: As the proverb says, a picture is worth a thousand words. One picture can help what you can’t learn in a number of words. Learning through images, charts or graphics can help you remember better.

8. Teach a friend: It is said that knowledge is the only thing that increase as you give it. Reading out aloud is found to be effective in improving memory. If you teach your classmate or a friend, it will help you memorize the facts better. This is especially good when you learn a new concept or theory.

9. Play games for your brain: Play games such as playing cards, crossword puzzles and reading. Doing this daily will keep away memory loss and keeps brain active.

10. Eat Breakfast: Eating your breakfast everyday s a must and including an egg will be great. Eggs have Vitamin B and omega 3 fatty acids which is essential to keep nerves and neurons healthy. Lean proteins, fruits and vegetables can be included in breakfast. Do not eat trans fats. A healthy breakfast is essential to kick start the day and to keep your brain cells active.
