Fashion tips for the Indian Bridegroom

It’s the age of the fashion-conscious man and men are as much interested in grooming themselves as their female counterparts. The bridegroom of an Indian wedding should shine like a prince when he goes to meet his princess.  Here are some fashion essentials for the Indian Dulha.

Sherwani is the Groom’s attire for any traditional Indian Wedding. Choose sequined or embroidered look for your Sherwani. Add your own personal touch to your wedding Sherwani by consulting with your designer.  Be simple but classy. Brocade, velvet or silk fabric can be chosen.

Matching shoes or jutti (Indian traditional wedding shoes) should be there with the dress. You can design it using your sherwani’s fabric or a contrasting shade.

A Pagdi or Turban is necessary to top it all. The royal look is incomplete without that. In different states of India, the size and colour of the turban is different. It has religious importance too. Kalgi or Sarpech is jewellery that adorns the turban. There are Kalgis with feather too.

Pearl Necklaces or malas give a royal touch to the bridegroom. For simple sherwanis you can add a maharaja touch by wearing a brooch made of precious metals.
