Is your child a Video Game Addict..?

Gaming is an inevitable part in the life of humans, right…! Well, with the advent of video interactive games towards the end of 20th century, a new era has started in the human history. Today, video games are available in the form of small devices or consoles that can be plugged to a computer/TV, have conquered a major chunk of the active time period of children. Experts in the field say that there can be long term adversities in the character of the children while endearing with video games.

                Though there can be many effects associated with playing video games, we can sum up the major problems as follows:

       Addiction: Children will soon start developing a kind of addiction to the video gaming world. The bright – attractive gaming interfaces gets control over them and the children appear to be socially awkward as well. They may also appear to be highly impulsive too.
·         
      Violence: The most famous games that were been sold out at a blinks time are those ones associated with violence. With children been thrown to the world of violence, when they find pleasure in the bloodshed glory of the virtual world characters, they are sure to seek the same in real life as well.
·        
      Under performance: Children, who should concentrate more on their studies and social interaction during this time, however will never be able to concentrate more on that aspect due to the excessive interest towards gaming.

Having said the major problems that children face due to the gaming world, we now can also put forward some remedial measures for the problems mentioned above.

·         Censoring: Censoring from the part of parents is a great way in order to help children understand what suits to them the most. Since children are unknown about the reality and are exposed to a virtual world with gaming, its parents who should act as moderators. Never allow your child to play games for more than half an hour a day.

·         A clear no to violence: As we mentioned about moderation just above, it is also strongly recommended to stop the involvement of violence in the games. Strictly make a cover in front of the children when they are more into violent games. Also put this in mind that they serve not single information that could boost the performance of your children in day to day life.

·          Make it slow: It can’t be stopped on a fine morning. The process of bringing back your kid from the gaming world takes time. However, the one thing that you have to take in mind during these times is to not allow them to get exposed to speedy games. Well, researches have proved that children won’t be able to perform the right psycho motor activities when they are exposed to speedy games.


·         Spend some quality time: Finally, this one comes as the most important thing while doing anything for your kid. Spending some quality time will bring them back to the real world.
